This figurine drew inspiration from the elegant creations of Cycladic art idols which date back to the bronze age c. 3200-1100 BCE.
During that period the Cycladic civilization, the most ancient in Europe, flourished around a cluster of 2,000 islands and islets forming a rough circle around the sacred island of Delos in the Aegean Sea, Greece.
